My vote goes for DC on 7/14. Many people like me might have already used their time off recently to get a medical exam and paperwork for I-485. I live in Baltimore area and simply cannot make it to DC on a weekday. If I lose my job I won't get a green card - as simple as that.
If there are others in Baltimore area who would like to join the action please don't hesitate to contact me. We could car pool and get together to make signs. I'll also try to gather some friends, although it might be tough on a short notice - almost everyone is on vacation.
I dont need to tell you how DC looks like on a weekend. None but visitors. Your boss must be really cruel to let you go for ever if you need to take half day off. Just joking :) Go ahead and create a poll with all possible options and then you can figure out what is the best option

IV website is a board where people of all kinds visit and there is no control over stuff. Just go to any blog site - we see 100 rants and crazy comments as against a few wise talk.
I guess we have to live with it and keep pushing people. Sometimes loud and sometimes gently.

I had taken infopass and officer sent an email to TSC enquiring about current status. Today, I got snail mail reply..
"Due to the high volume of expedite requests for this case type, we are strictly enforcing the criteria that has been set for these expedite requests."

If Dream act becomes law, I will throw my visa documents and register my self as undocumented alien with undocumented birth certificate and get degree from a community college and get the visa.:D

People (including me have already sent the flowers to be delivered on the 10th.
So please do not change these dates, since that would look very awkward.

If that is the case then the document has to be updated to include those dates. Also, I suggest collecting emails and fax numbers and assigning a few people to do the actual "sending". This will make it easier to coordinate.

It looks like prior to this visa bulletin, the DOS was just guessing the dates for the visa bulletins. Hopefully this behavior changes moving forward.
The best example to illustrate this is EB3-ROW:
1) Back in October 2006, this category was on 01MAY02. Very close to where it is right now.
2) DOS was not getting enough visas from USCIS, so they increased the date. By May of 2007 (Same Fiscal Year) the date was 01AUG03.
3) They still didn't get enough visas. So, by June of 2007 they moved it to 01JUN05.
4) The July 07 bulletin happened and after that everything became unavailable.
5) Then in October 2007, when the USCIS had not revised any of the July 07 applications, the DOS still didn't know what to expect, so they went back to 01AUG02.
6) Again, they didn't get enough applications, so they moved the date up. By January 08 they were in 15OCT02. And in Jun, they went all the way to 01JAN06. Then they became unavailable again.
7) In October of 2008 the date was in 01JAN05, which means that USCIS was not done with the July 07 cases and DOS didn't know what to expect. In April of this year they go back to 2003 (some I-485s that were received back in 2007 getting approved?) and then they became unavailable.
8) Now in October 2009 they are back in 2002.
With dates going from 2001 to 2005 then back to 2002 then up to 2006 then back again to 2002 (EB3-ROW in the last 3 years), it is easy to conclude that up until now, USCIS and DOS have been gambling with the dates. So the October bulletin could mean one of two things: 1) Either they have valid data now and the dates for this bulletin are realistic, which would be good because at least we would know now where we stand or 2) They are still gambling, which is neither good or bad, because with the previous history of movement in the dates, the dates could go back to 2006 again or even further...

My wife and I submitted affidavits about the date of birth. We received our approvals 10 days without any RFEs about those affidavits.

Were there any RFEs regarding birth certificates in the cases where an affidavit was submitted initially?
I submitted birth affidavit with my application, PD 24/March/06, goes current from 1/Sep.
I understand from my parents that it takes good effort and may take long time to get the birth certificate. It will be a great help if you can share your experience.

I am bringing these out not because I am opposed to equal treatment of folks on H1/ EAD etc - but because there are legitimate arguments both ways and unless we can prove unequivocally that there is gross miscarriage of justice in denying us this right and on the other hand - there is no disadvantage caused to anybody else by granting us this right - this idea is unlikely to see the light of the day
while i am happy to be proven wrong - i do not see anyone in this forum having a stomach for a protracted legal battle starting with lower courts and going all the way to Supreme Court - going back to my previous point - we do not see this as a "larger than me" cause
Incorrect words used by me, I did not mean that supreme court gave authority, but that supreme court did not find that discrimination based on country of origin for immigrants violates the basic tenents of this countries constitution.
I am not saying that this is a case on employers. If at all it would be a case against the discriminatory laws of the congress which allow someone to stay indefinitely but, do not allow them to work.
If a case like this is filed, I do not think, I do not see it going to be a proteacted battle. If enough coverage is given, the lawmakers might sit down and fix the problem or atleast have a quick temporary fix. Maybe even lawmakers might not be needed, just the DOJ would might update the rules (which it is allowed in case it determines that the laws are conflicting). Most important of all, this will bring the issues on the front from being a laggard.

it's not mine case. Clockwork reported some LUD for I140 some where. May be Aug 5? Not sure. But I think LUD of I140 doesn't matter. This is my personal opinion.

I actually spoke to Customer service and I got 2 very different responses.
1. Wait till you are an old man and then the cards may just come !! (Just Kidding ) she actually said wait for 90 days.
2. Another CSR told me that the TSC is having technical issues and they are not able to access the Biometric information on approved 485's in their systems. She advised me to download Form I-90 from the USCIS site and fill that in and send it in - if you have a minor on the petition then also send 2 passport size pictures of the minor - this will allow them to access the Biometric screen when they process the I-90. We will get Biometric notices and the Minor will get the card - the Grown ups will get the Cards after the Biometrics are uploaded.
I have not done this - eventhough I downloaded the I-90 forms - I took a INFOPASS appt and if they suggest that I should do a I-90 then I can get that done right on the spot - I am carrying the filled I-90 with me. Anyhow I-90 is usually submitted to correct errors on the card or to replace a card - however this woman sounded quite knowledgeable - but then there are issues realted to where the I-90 should be sent - this is specially complicated if your case has been transferred a few times like mine was.
Best is to check with the guys/gals at Infopass -meeting.
All this was from the rep at the TSC - so not sure if this is applicable to all centers.
AGAIN THIS IS WHAT I HEARD FROM THE TSC REP - PLEASE USE THIS INFORMATION AT YOUR OWN RISK - I AM NOT SENDING THE I-90 ON MY OWN.
I will post my Infoapss exp on the 9th of september.

What she told is 'My case is approved and they are missing the Biometrics and I will be getting the mail to appear for the Biometrics'
...and She is not even giving me the chance to explain the scenario of uploading the Biometrics to TSC etc... (I have seen in the forums that for the numbers starting with WAC...Biometrics were uploaded to CSC and the TSC is unable to upload the Biometrics back to their system. And she told him that she will put a request to upload the Biometrics to TSC ASAP which may take 3 to 4 days)
When I tried to tell this, the answer I got is "I don't want to hear anything from you and you will be getting the Biometrics mail as we are missing"

Just wanted to give you an update on my FP notice. Finally I got FP notice today schedule for 01/29/08. I guess Infopass appointment works. I had infopass appointment on 21st of Dec 2007 and IO told me I should expect FP within 3 weeks . I guess USCIS has started working after a long break. Hang on guys.

My app was sent to NSC on 7/2 but I-140 approved from TSC. Still no receipts, no checks encashed. Called USCIS, and they asked me to call after 90 days. Any ideas ? Is anyone else in the same boat ?

The Intent & Implicatins could easilty be challenged....I need not have to write how intent could be challenged, as fa as implications are concerned, country cap has given grief to certain section, while they are still living in the country...
Do we have any reference to say it is unconstitutional ? If EB country cap is unconstitutional, FB cap would be unconstitutional too.
IMO this entire country cap rule has racist intent. If the caps were to promote diversity, the cap should be based on ethnicity of US population (ctizens and GC holders). Are Indians and Chinese a a mjority in this country ? No.
