I am starting this thread ONLY for those who filed their 485's to the TSC from July 5th till July 31, 2007. If you have receipt notices for your filings in between these dates, please reply here. I am concerned with what's happening with our submissions at the TSC? Thanks.

thanks, but i believe this is incorrect. Per the 2005 Aytes memo (http://www.peludcarson.com/2007/01/aytes_memo_on_a.html) it is clearly stated that person can change jobs after 180 days irrespective of whether I-140 is approved or not. The key phrase is that I-140 should've been "approvable when filed".
cjain, wait till it's approved becoz if ur employer withdraws the 140 before it's approved (even after 180 days) then ur 485 will get rejected. if employer doesn't withdraw and 140 gets approved after 180 days, at that point u will be safe to change employers but might get RFEs later on. So instead of taking a big risk wait till 140 is approved and 180 days are over before you leave employer.

After reading lots of forums contributors, my 2 cents :
a) I think the first thing is ban those people who advise separation of interests or make invidual groups in forums.
As if things happening in india are not enough to divide people on all fronts, a new separation criteria is created here on EB1/EB2/EB3. A lot of us are very creative..wow !!
b) Initiative needs to be well spent and well thought. Its a forum for ideas and further on implementation. So, its for everyone. Taking initiative is not bad, go ahead, but walking tall on other peoples misery is not really very cool !!
People are waiting for 10 years in line, come on..think, if this happens to all of us..
c) Legal and illegal efforts. People accusing core of bank accounts withdrawls and all that nonsense, do not need any rebuttal.
The harshness of things is creeping in people, but pls. some sincerity is also needed.
I thank all of you who have worked hard for the benefit of all of us.

I say this from experience - there are people working day and night for IVs cause - with a lot of dedication - there are free riders and majority of people are sitting on fence - want to do something but not quite sure what/how /why and are lost opening these threads and discussing.
Channelizing your frustration, your energies into positive energies will help us achieve our goals. So please decide if you want to move forward and do something about it - State chapters is the best route for contributing towards IV stuff

I do not understand why people spend their energy in coming up with some lame ideas. Just because you suffer does not mean that your fellows have to suffer, what is the point of being a sane individual with that kind of thought process.
There are people who come here on all kinds of visas F1, H1, L1 and like this country and stay back and need a green card for convenience. Students who came here want priority over people who came on H1B. It makes sense from their point of view.
Similarly people on H1B who got stuck in several stages and had to change the company have their own point of view.
How bout having a lame rule saying that GC for people with I.Q of 140 and above?

How bout having a lame rule like if you have a family you will be penalized by putting you at the end of the line for GC?
The list can go endless..

I never beleive in polls. The questions are always framed in such a way so that max people go and answer the way the poll wants....example below
Q1 ... Do you as an American support CIR for resolving immigration issues this country faces ?
Q2 ... Do you as an American support CIR so that illegal immigrants be a Citizen of this country ?
Looks at the above two questions, I think for Q1 lot of people would say "Yes" and "No" for the Q2, so I never beleive on the polls , the questions are always framed to get the answer the poll wants.

Do you have any numbers for advocacy effort participation in terms of EB2 vs EB3 ? You and some EB2 members on this forum seems to be suggesting that they are getting GCs faster because you they did some outstanding effort in terms of IV advocacy effort. Would you mind sharing some evidence in case you have some ?
I didn't see EB2 guys overcrowding that event. There were well meaning, sincere members from both EB2 as well EB3.
Please stop lecturing EB3 guys. If pappu or someone from leadership want to lecture us, it is fine. Not every jack and jill on this forum should lecture us.

My observation was based on the thread that we had for collecting the amount..I didn't see many EB3 folks contribute dollars....but now that 2 EB3 are vouching that enough EB3 folks contibuted, that's great. I just observed something and if it hurt you right down the spine, sorry. I filed PERM 3 months ago, I'm far off in this process. Just focus on advocay so that everyone gets their GCs. Good luck. I hate this EB2 vs EB3, this is a never ending debate. Just hope everyone gets their GC in time.

My questions are:
I am in H1B status and plan to keep it. I need to go for Landing in Canada (PR approved). I have pending I-485 with approved AP, and EAD(not using).
1. My passport with old H1B visa is expired. The H1B visa is also expired in may 2007. I have new valid passport(India) with Canada Immigrant Visa and approved I-797 extension for H1B till 2010. Can I safely use automatic visa revalidation to come back after landing considering expired visa in expired passport?
If I decide to go for Stamping:
2. If stamping gets denied or delayed, can I come back in with AP?
3. I may have to file EAD renewal application before I leave. Is it safe to travel outside US after filing for EAD renewal or will the application be considered abandoned. I plan on using H1B stamp or automatic revalidation to come back.
My wife is H4-> F1-> now pending AOS because using EAD(from I-485 pending not OPT).
She will accompany me to canada with pending EAD renewal application:
1. Will her EAD application be abandoned or is there no risk? She will be using AP to come back.

I am july 3rd filer and Just got the receipt numbers..Looks like our box is not lost and interestingly my numbers start with LIN even though my 140 processed from SRC.
